The time has come to #UnleashHer
You know she’s there. We know she’s there. We all have one, and when we let her reign, life as we know it changes. We become strong, fearless, and powerful.

Got a Spartan race on your ‘bucket list’, or is it something you have always silently dreamed of doing but have not been confident to make a reality? Now is the time. Take the plunge. Enter this competition and don’t look back.
As you may have seen by the imagery, Reebok Spartan events attract a diverse range of physical fitness backgrounds and people of all shapes and sizes. The only thing each person has in common is a desire to work hard, conquer the course and help each other along the way. Any person who has competed a Spartan event will tell you that whilst it was challenging, it was fun, exhilerating and a great way to bond with friends. What they will also tell you is the amazing sense of achievement they felt after completing the event.
Training for an event like a Spartan race can potentially be as fun and rewarding as the event itself. Body weight strength exercises, obstacle practice and cardio work will help prepare your body and your mind for this challenge. Why not do it with friends?
Perhaps the greatest appeal of an event like this is that it not only unleashes your inner warrior, but your inner child at the same time. Climbing fences, crawling through the mud - adventure challenges such as this allow us to revisit some of the things we used to love doing as children - or always wanted to do as child.
So go enter the contest. And allow yourself the opportunity and honour of getting in touch with your inner warrior. Don’t be apprehensive about whether you can do it - she already knows you can.

I know I’m a little late (Just found the blog and the contest_ but, am I ready to unleash my inner warrior? HELL YEA! Here’s why: Although I have been plus sized, the majority of my life, I have always had pretty fair amount of athletiscm. I played soccer and basketball throughout high school but stop playing once I started college. After graduation and at my heaviest I joined an adult soccer league and started training to run my first 5k. During training for the 5k and in the middle of a soccer game I fractured my knee and was put out of commission for over 3 months. 2 years later after convincing myself lightning wouldn’t strike twice, I ran my first 5k and am now training for a triathlon at the end of August and a half marathon in October. What’s a better way to put myself to the test after mentally then adding a Spartan race to the list of this I have accomplished year? There isn’t one. Count me in!
Just entered, this is amazing!
I am a Mom of two young children, and just completed my first 5k that I have done in over 10 years, this Spring. It is amazing what training for a race has done for me, to encourage me to get out everyday, and not workout just whenever I feel like it.
The Spartan race sounds like an amazing opportunity to train for something that is more than just a race, but a bit of fun, too, with the things you have to climb and such.
I am so ready to unleash the beast, too!
I have lost 125lbs in a little over a year. I still have at least 50-75lbs to go. I have jogged several 5Ks, signed up for my first 10K and have started road bike riding. Just finished a ride of 45 miles, working my way up to 100 miles. I would love to add a Spartan race in the mix to help build up more confidence that I can do a lot more then I think I can. I’m ready to UNLEASH THE BEAST!
Lost 55 lbs last year and I have more to lose. This is looks terrifying, but it would be worth it to be able to say “I did it”.
I’ve done the Warrior Dash but the Spartan scares me a bit. I’m doing a lot of 5ks this summer, plus a 7k and 10k, working up to my first half marathon this fall. It would be cool to add the Spartan!
Terrified. Entered anyway.
Awesome!
Why am I ready to unleash my inner warrior?!? … I’m going for the Spartan Trifecta this year, and traveling all the way from Chicago to South Carolina for the Beast!! .. I was SUPER SUPER nervous last year when I did my first Sprint here in Chicago… it was HARD … and I was TIRED by the end… my legs hurt for DAYS… but what I learned the most from it was …
There are no size requirments to be a warrior, a spartan, a runner… you just need to be who you are and do what it takes to cross the finish line… its YOUR race, YOUR pace…
Always up to try something new!
I just started training for a 5k walk/ run. I have no idea why i joined this contest and the thought of winning makes me a bit nauseous lol!!! I have no “team” - do i have to have a team? Who will pull me over the fences? omg. Anyway..entered!!! lmao!!
I’ve always been intimidated by Spartans races. This would be a GREAT way to get out of my comfort zone.
Doing a Spartan race later this month then on to the next challenge of my first Sprint Triathlon.
Yes! I’m excited to try my 1st Spartan. Thanks for a great contest.
I’m so ready to unleash my power. I think I’d forgotten I had any! Thanks to sites like this, I’m slowly regaining faith in myself!!
Thank you for such an inspiring blog. I play Roller Derby for a team in West Virginia. Your articles translate to all types of plus size athletes!
This opportunity would be completely amazing! A Spartan Race is one of my biggest goals. I’ve biked across the US, I play roller derby, I’m signed up for two mud runs this summer… I just need that Spartan Race!!!
Awesome!!
Ohmigosh, this sounds totally awesome! I feel like I am totally in the perfect place for this prize – would love the challenge of the Spartan Sprint, and desperately need some new gear. Fingers crossed!
So excited about this! I can’t wait to see who wins!
Does the Spartan have to be completed in 2015?
Hi Lisa, the race entry is only for the 2015 race season.
One of my goals this year is to finally earn my Spartan trifecta! I would love to unleash my inner beast and help inspire others to do the same!!
This is great. I’ve been doing tri for a year and am ready to unleash the beast to gain more speed, strength, and power.
I just found your blog and I’m really loving it!
